Hi! My name is Anna Sailamaa. I am an illustrator based in Helsinki, Finland. My main interests are graphic novels and picture books. I like to work with digital media and experiment with traditional techniques. My projects usually involve visual narration and playing with characters. I have two Master’s degrees, first one from Art Education from Aalto University and the second one from The Academy of Fine Arts in Uniarts Helsinki.
I have written, illustrated and published several graphic novels both with publishing houses and as self published zines. In the future, I wish to write, illustrate and publish more picturebooks.
In addition to illustration, I work as a teacher. I have strong pedagogical skills, good teamwork skills and a wide range of multidisciplinary skills.
