Jan Šrámek (*1983) is a visual artist, illustrator and teacher, a graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Brno University of Technology, where he currently runs the Video Studio alongside Martin Mazanec. He forms an artistic partnership with the artist Veronika Vlková. He is the illustrator and co-author of the publications *Sauroprdi* (2026), *Endangered Species* (2025), *You Can’t Stop Progress, Mate!* (2023), *How to Enjoy a Film* (2022), *Apolenka from the Blueprint* (2020), *That’s the Underground, Mate!* (2019), Pražské vize (2017), Zvláštní okolnosti (2016), Pionýři a Roboti (2016), Letenský Glosář (2016), Postavit domy nestačí (2015) and Ztracená Perspektiva (2013). His work has been exhibited in galleries and at festivals in cities such as London, New York, Amsterdam, Seoul and Beijing. In 2014, he contributed to the Czechoslovak Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale, and in 2017 and 2020 he won the Czech Grand Design award in the Illustrator of the Year category. The illustrations for the book *That’s the Metro, Mate!* were selected for a prestigious exhibition at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair in 2020.
