Julie Kyryljuk and Jozef Virányi belong to the youngest generation of illustrators, both of whom are currently studying at the Illustration and Graphics Studio at the UMPRUM in Prague under the guidance of Juraj Horváth and Michaela Kukovičová. Both like to use classic graphic techniques, Julie most recently caught the eye of, for example, the author’s conception of the book Golem by Gustav Meyrink illustrated with the woodcut technique, for which she received a nomination in the student category of the Most Beautiful Czech Book of the Year competition and for which she was also awarded the first-ever winner of the CAIMAJ award.
