Lucie Lučanská is an illustrator and author from Prague who holds a doctoral degree from UMPRUM and creates independent books, comics, watercolor paintings, tattoos, airbrush art, and murals. A versatile artist who frequently experiments with diverse techniques and Risograph printing, she collaborates with international publishing houses including Planeta Tangerina, Éditions MeMo, Edizioni Sigaretten, Rotopol, Hello Robin!, Baobab, and LUX. For the festival, she presents her graphic novel “Dorty a pasti” (Cakes and Traps), published by Centrála, which she plans to showcase alongside a limited edition of screen-printed posters and a custom 3D installation. The narrative follows Edna, a technician installing custom trail cameras for wealthy clients who drives an old Mercedes van and plans to attend a punk concert, and Arpád, a catering cook who secretly crafts avant-garde custom cakes and loves Rachmaninoff. Though the two protagonists have never met, the invisible snares of an occult destiny begin to tighten around their lives over the course of a single day, pulling them into a supernatural conspiracy filled with stolen Giacometti sculptures, lucid dreaming, and impending bloodshed.
