Matyáš Namai

Matyáš Namai (* 1993) has focused primarily on the medium of comics since his student days. He has contributed to the magazines ABC (The Shaolin Master, The Thief of the Millennium), Playboy (Ironic Applause) and Aargh! (the ever-expanding, loose collection *Tales from Vizarija*). His major book projects include *1984: A Graphic Novel* (an adaptation of George Orwell’s novel), the documentary comic *Chernobyl: The Fall of Atomgrad*, and the biography *The Dalai Lama: The Long Journey*, which was produced in close collaboration with the Dalai Lama’s office. Matyáš’s work has been exhibited at international festivals such as the Taipei Illustration Fair and the Hercegnovac Strip Festival, as well as at Czech festivals including LUSTR, Koma and FIK. In 2025, he contributed to the short-story comic *Kingdom Come: Lost Stories*, based on the Czech computer game *Kingdom Come: Deliverance*. He is currently seeking the space and resources to realise his first original graphic novel, *The House of Pain*.
