In her illustration work, Barbora Müllerová has long been devoted to topics related to nature and ecology, for her author’s book Atlas opravdových příšer – Bestiary of Animal Evolution she was nominated for the Zlatá stuha and Most Beautiful Book of the Year 2019 awards. As part of the Illustration Symposium 2023, she created an illustrated Herbarium calendar or Kräuterbuch inspired the first Czech edition of Mathioli’s Herbarium from 1596 and the early printed books of the monastery library in Broumov. However, inspiration from medieval and early modern paintings and herbariums have been intertwined in her work since the days of her graphic design studies at the University of Jan Evangelista Purkyně in Ústí nad Labem.
