KLARXY

KLARXY (*1993) is a Croatian illustrator and painter who holds degrees from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb and the University of Art in Falmouth, where her narrative work earned recognition for creative writing. After years of focusing on graphic novels and commercial illustration, her practice has recently shifted toward traditional oil painting on canvas to explore deeply reflective, personal themes. For the festival, she presents “Dear Babies…”, a multi-layered exhibition featuring a series of eight oil paintings accompanied by an intimate collection of letters addressed to her unborn children. Prompted by the symbolic milestone of turning thirty, the project functions as a personal checkpoint to examine contemporary adulthood through simplified life categories like health, love, and finances. By addressing a fictional yet responsible audience, her narrative works capture the fragile balance between lived experience and ongoing existential curiosity. Ultimately, the installation offers an accessible, vulnerable, and gently ironic reflection on what it means to take stock of one’s life at a pivotal generational turning point.
