Julia Steinmetz is an illustrator and comic creator from Northern Germany. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in illustration at HAW Hamburg and is involved in organizing the local Comics Festival there. In her work, she enjoys combining historical peculiarities, facts, and fantasies from various places, creating stories full of peculiar details and characters. She concluded her bachelor’s studies with a comic set in a world inspired by old maritime maps and occult grimoires. In 2023, she was selected to participate in a residency in Marseille, France, where she worked on a new comic project.
