He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, in the studio of free printmaking. His work focuses on contemporary social phenomena, which he enjoys playfully critiquing. He often incorporates text—usually in the form of slogans—into figurative scenes, frequently featuring cat-like protagonists.
Šumichrast’s work is heavily influenced by internet memes, pop culture, various subcultures, and criticism of capitalism. In addition to his independent artistic practice, he also works in comics, illustration, and poster design, and actively exhibits his work.
