Tomáš Staněk / Obras (*1994) is a visual artist and illustrator, a graduate of the Faculty of Arts at the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen. He is the author of the graphic novel *Prázdniny* (2023, Centrala) and the illustrated *Peripheral Guide to Prague* (2025, Labyrint), both of which have been nominated for numerous awards. He has long been involved in illustration and comics, both on commission and as an independent creator; he has self-published a number of smaller works such as *Praga caput rei publicae*, *Dobrodošli*, and *Palmovka teď*. He produces zines and prints, and for nearly a decade he co-published the comics magazine *XRXMAG*. He lives and works in Prague, which is also one of the strongest sources of inspiration for his work. He also engages in freehand drawing and painting, ranging from post-graffiti and more or less official mural work, through series of paintings on canvas, to more conceptual drawing projects or a continuously updated illustrated diary, often in collaboration with Josef Sedlák as the duo OBRAS AKROBAD. Outside of the visual arts, he is also one half of the experimental rap group Dvě Slunce.
