ALMANAKA is an archive, a catalog, a collection of anything and everything.
Using the word ALMANAC (almanac) as a starting point join us in this fanzine workshop where every publication could embrace any format or idea.
In this workshop we’ll learn how to make a fanzine, from the initial idea through to materialization of it. During the workshop, the participants will get to know all the steps involved in creating an individual or collective self-publication. We will use drawing as a medium to create the core and we will play with manual printing techniques to work around the cover of our publications.
The workshop will revolve around the creative possibilities of self publishing, the book, the format, the drawing and the print. What we want to tell and how we tell it is only limited by ourselves. Hopefully opening up new possibilities to bring your ideas out there.
Workshop structure:
-Short introduction to self-publishing and fanzines. Formats,printing techniques and examples.
-Practical exercises in drawing your catalog/archive/comic…
-Materialisation of the fanzine. Drawing, scanning, photocopy…
-Materialisation of the cover / Printing the fanzine.
-Binding and final results.
The workshop will be in English and Spanish and takes 4 hours.
