In today’s world, it is essential to narrow the gap between the realm of science and society, enabling the sharing of scientific knowledge with a broad audience. While the intersection of science and comics is not a new phenomenon, just as the interest of comics in science is not novel, the use of comics as a means to popularize science undeniably represents one of the new trends within this medium, generating anticipation both within the scientific community and among comic readers. Through the perspectives of José Sobrino, a professor at the Institute of Earth Physics at the University of Valencia, whose research focuses on the changes our planet is undergoing, Darío Adanti, the author of the publication “We Are Meteorites,” a graphic essay on global warming and the climate crisis we face, and David Böhm, a Czech artist and author of the book “A jako Antarktida: Pohled z druhé strany” (And like Antarctica: A View from the Other Side), this illustrated dialogue will allow us to better understand the essence of this unique approach bridging science and comics.
