Do you want to publish a comic book but don’t know where to start? Do you have pages sketched out at home, endlessly revising your storyboard, or are you unsure who to turn to with your script? This workshop will provide your work with the missing direction and motivation to see your project through to the end! Established comic author Štěpánka Jislová will introduce you to a selection of Czech publishers worth approaching and reveal which genre resonates with them. You’ll learn how your pitch should look to avoid ending up in spam at the publishing house, as well as what financial reward you can expect, how international rights work, and how to create a realistic timeline. This workshop is ideal for those who have a work-in-progress comic project, but it will also be useful for those just getting started.
