Radek Pokorný teaches at the Scholastika. In his work, he focuses on combining traditional typography with contemporary graphic design, whether designing books, brochures, websites, or music packaging. Since 2010, he has been leading courses attended by professional photographers, including award-winning Czech Press Photo recipients.
In this workshop, he’ll guide you through the entire process from digital illustration to the final printed product. We will focus on illustration in digital programs, scanning, editing, pre-press preparation, and the actual printing process. We’ll discuss the differences between preparing for digital publishing and print, including color models, types of printing, separations, resolution, paper types and formats, weights, profiles, and document setup. You will also gain a basic understanding of typesetting and typography. The workshop will cover topics such as finishing processes (lamination, die-cutting), exporting, document checks in Acrobat Reader, and print specifications.
The workshop will last 2 hours and will be conducted in Czech.
The course is organized by Scholastika, a specialized college of visual communication, which introduces a new educational platform in the fields of fine arts, applied arts, and design. It actively engages students in the contemporary art scene through instruction led primarily by young artists and theorists. For more information, visit www.scholastika.cz.
