An exhibition of Czech comics at the Fumetto comics festival in Switzerland. The exhibition, titled Scratchy Lines, Missing Bubbles. Rare Genres in Contemporary Czech Comics, presents uncommon genres within contemporary Czech comics, such as the comics diary, documentary comics, sitcom, lyrical comics, and horror.
The exhibition concept highlights the diversity of approaches to the comics medium on today’s Czech scene, the variety of visual languages and storytelling methods, and presents Czech comics as a space for experimentation and exploration of the medium. The selection of exhibiting artists was made by illustrator and LUSTR festival curator Barbora Müllerová in cooperation with Latvian publisher and editor-in-chief of Kuš! David Schilter.
As part of the programme of the prestigious Fumetto festival, the presentation will ensure international visibility for Czech comics and foster connections with a progressive, artistically distinguished comics scene.
