This April, the sixth annual Illustration Symposium took place in the Broumov monastery. Do you know about the only symposium focused solely on illustration in the Czech Republic? If not, we would be really glad if you started following us on social media to find out who we are and what we do.
The human factor is, of course, crucial for the exchange of know-how and the pleasantness of the whole stay. However, the concept of selection is not primarily based on finding cool people. Every year we approach professional and budding illustrators who cover a certain palette of authorial handwriting and style. We want to bring together diverse personalities who can inspire each other. We look at various awards, publishing, and other factors that influence the final line-up. Following Broumov’s candidacy for the title of European Capital of Culture 2028, the symposium has managed to open up more to the international scene.
