Whitney Bursch

Whitney Bursch

Whitney Bursch (1994) is a Hamburg based comic artist. She uses the communicative powers of words, images and stories to process her feelings and make them available to others. All of her work centers her feelings in some way shape or form whether it is in longer, more fictional narrations such as “supalonely” (2021) or shorter diary zines such as “loveable slug” (2024). Her works are mostly self published in small editions. She has published in anthologies such as “strapazin” and “the future is…”
Title description: “loveable slug” describes the feeling of being abandoned during a fight. “hungry baby” observes the feeling of being starved for love. “eden/mum” follows the last conversation the artist had with her mother and overlaps it with various associations, feelings, memories of happiness and pain before coming to a final decision.
