Mikuláš studied graphic design and illustration and is currently finishing his studies in the didactic illustration studio at Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art in Pilsen. His work focuses on print output: zines, comics and author books. He spent part of studies abroad at schools in Budapest and Warsaw. Lately he has been dipping his toe into animation; in Warsaw he completed his first fully animated microfilm “Get Home!”. In 2023, he won the third place audience award at LUSTR with his pop-up book Pesthouse. His work over the last few years has revolved around the theme of man’s relationship with nature, absurdity and mourning over climate change. Outside of sitting at a table with a pencil in hand, he tries to cultivate a community of illustrators in Pilsen through Urban Sketching gatherings or organizing the “Šuplíkáři” (Drawers) market.
