The influences of medieval book culture can also be read from the illustrations and paintings of Lucie Lučanská, a graduate of the illustration and graphics studio at UMPRUM in Prague. Lučanská is often inspired by demonology and alchemical writings, her large-format watercolor paintings mainly refer to landscapes and gardens, which she presented, for example, as part of the LUSTR 2021 festival, in 2022 at the Gran Salón Mexico in Mexico City or at the Entrance Gallery in Prague. In 2023, she was shortlisted for the Bologna Children Book Fair and presented herself with a solo exhibition at the Titivil Gallery in Bologna, now celebrating international success with her author’s books Uvnit stanu and Kniha vnímání.
